Who Is Monsanto?

Making a balanced meal accessible to everyone, and doing it in a sustainable way, requires a wide range of ideas and resources. That’s why our more than 20,000 employees come from a variety of backgrounds, such as farming, plant breeding, engineering, marketing, environmental science and many other paths. Still, we know we can’t do it alone. We collaborate with farmers, researchers, nonprofit organizations, universities and many others to tackle agriculture’s biggest challenges, and we’re working to develop a broad range of solutions to sustainably grow enough for a growing world.

We produce seeds for fruits, vegetables and key crops – such as corn, soybeans, and cotton. We work collaboratively to find sustainable solutions for soil health, help farmers use data to improve farming practices and conserve natural resources, and provide crop protection products to minimize damage from pests and disease. We also work in many other areas, such as traditional plant breeding, data and precision agriculture, biotechnology and more. Advancements in these areas are helping farmers have better harvests while using water and other important resources more efficiently. And when farmers have better harvests, a balanced meal is more accessible for families around the world.

Watch the video below to see some personal stories from Monsanto employees. Although each of us plays a different role at Monsanto, we are all working toward the same common goal: helping to make balanced meals more accessible to all, today and in the decades to come.
